Genie+ Service Update
The Genie+ Service will be disappearing on July 24, 2024.
Since 2021, the Genie+ service has been a paid skip-the-line system at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. Starting July 24th, there will be some changes. So let’s get into it.
Name Change
The system will now be called Lightning Lane and will consist of Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass
While it will remain a paid service, Walt Disney World guests staying at an eligible onsite resort with a date-based ticket will be able to purchase the Multi Pass and reserve 3 attractions (1 from Tier 1 and 2 (or all 3 if you want) from Tier 2) at 7am EST, 7 days prior to their visit for the length of their stay up to 14 days. All other guests with a date-based ticket can purchase and make attraction reservations 3 days in advance of their ticket date.
If you have a park hopper ticket, your initial 3 pre-visit selections will need to be in the same park.
Lightning Lane Single Pass
You can also purchase 2 Lightning Lane Single Passes. You do not have to purchase the Multi Pass and/or Single Pass for each day of your trip. You can choose which days you want to purchase it for.
We do not know how much the service will cost yet, but speculation is it will be similar to current Genie+ pricing, which is dynamic based on crowd levels and time of the year and can range from $15-$39 per day.
After you use your first Multi Pass, you can book your next one right away from any tier. If you have a park hopper ticket, your next selection can be in any park. You can also modify your choice if you want to, depending on availability. You can only use a Multi Pass once per attraction per day.
Currently, character meet and greets are not included in the Lightning Lane system.
Lightning Lane Single Pass Attractions
Lightning Lane Single Pass Attractions include: Tron, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Flight of Passage, and Rise of the Resistance. These attractions are not included in the Multi Pass.
Disneyland Resort
While the name change will carry over to Disneyland Resort, the process will remain the same as it currently is there.
